Job Description
ENGIE North America is searching for a Director of Campus Capital Program to be located in Iowa City, IA on the University of Iowa campus. The Director of Campus Capital Program represents the “Operator” in the day-to-day management of the “O&M and Capital Program Agreement” with the Concessionaire as well as with the university (end-customer)


  • Closely works with, and takes direction from, the Director of the Central Capital Projects team
  • Formally represent the “Operator” in the day-to-day management of the “O&M and Capital Program Agreement” with the Concessionaire as well as with the university (end-customer)
  • Shares innovations and best practices with ENGIE’s other campus capital program directors in ENGIE’s higher education portfolio and the central capex team
  • Is responsible for the P&L of the campus Capital Improvement program, closely coordinating with the Director of Energy Delivery while contractually reporting to the Director of Energy Solutions in a client-contractor relationship
  • Leads a functionally diverse team of engineers, project managers, project coordinators, and construction managers, that develops, sells, and executes energy system capital improvement projects on university campuses where ENGIE has a long-term partnership


Iowa:


ENGIE at the University of Iowa employs over 100 energy professionals in the trades, technical specialties, engineering, management and support to operate the utility production and distribution systems, driving toward greater use of renewable and sustainable fuels.


What you’ll do:


  • Provide a turnkey service to the Director of Energy Solutions while supporting him/her with stakeholder and customer relations management
  • Flourish and maintain cooperative and collaborative interaction with various university departments and managers for the long-term success of the Concession Agreement
  • Liaise with ENGIE North America and ENGIE Global IPOS (industrial projects oversight and support) teams
  • Lead the digital solutions implementation on campuses
  • Under the technical guidance of the Director of Central Capital Projects Team, implement and share best practices and resources
  • Support the academic collaboration part of the Concession Agreement as appropriate
  • Liaise with ENGIE Labs and import/partner/acquire disruptive and innovative ideas, processes, and products from the university faculty and students into ENGIE businesses
  • Lead and manage the campus capital projects team to deliver, at a minimum, the business plan capital program in terms of development, sales (approval by the university), and execution (construction and project management) on budget, on time, with successful health, safety, environmental, public relations, and D&I performance.


What you bring:


  • Represent ENGIE on campus, adhering and championing campus rules, customs, and practices
  • 10 Plus years of work experience in a related field
  • Experience in P3s is a plus
  • An MBA or related post-graduate degree is preferred
  • 3+ Years experience in campus energy systems design, development, and construction is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, or a related field
  • Meet, at a minimum, and exceed the concession business plan capital project development targets. Deliver the projects on time, on budget, with successful health, safety, environmental, public relations, and Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) performance
  • Experience working within higher education environment preferred
  • Maintain exceptional level of organization and professionalism
  • Moderate travel requirements (<10%) to other ENGIE campuses/offices, conferences, etc.
  • Experience presenting and speaking publicly to senior executives
  • Operate within high-pressure environment of a large university campus
  • Attend internal meetings and conference calls, in person and remotely
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Consistently identify challenges and present resolutions, in support of long-term partnership goals
  • Hire, retain and develop the campus capital projects team

  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license / clear driving record

  • Salary Range: $105,910 - $270,530 USD annually
