Position: Director of Business Development - Higher Education - North East

About Us:

We're seeking a motivated Director of Business Development to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll have the chance to exceed pipeline and profit objectives, lead new business initiatives, and work closely with Sales Leadership to drive overall sales strategies within the North East region. Your Role:

  • Develop tailored customer solutions to meet specific needs.
  • Cultivate relationships at the 'C Suite' level, understanding and adapting to prospective customers' corporate culture within the organization.
  • Lead the sales process from strategy to successful conclusion for dining services in large universities and colleges.
  • Strategically research, identify, and target potential clients, establishing effective contact strategies.
  • Collaborate across departments to deliver customer-desired outcomes.
  • Represent the company at industry events and organizations.
  • Mentor and influence team members without formal authority.
  • Play a key role in Competitive Environment Analysis, Account Sales Strategy, and Territory Development Strategy.
  • Utilize creativity and independent judgment to develop and evaluate sales and marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Flexibility to travel 70-80%, including overnight stays.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of executive/c-suite, B2B solution-based selling experience, preferably in the service industry.
  • Remote work-from-home role with travel within the designated territory: NY, NJ, ME, CT, MA, VT, RI.
  • Proficiency in strategic sales planning and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  • Financial acumen to understand operations and develop proposals.
