Job Summary
The mission of TWG’s Human Resources Team is to ensure TWG has the talent and organizational capability to win! As a member of TWG’s Human Resources Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Human Resources Director will play an integral role in the development and execution of the Human Resources strategy in support of TWG’s continued growth and evolution.
We are seeking a hands-on HR leader who will serve as a strategic partner to the business, supporting our Commercial and Corporate functions, partnering with senior leaders including key members of our Executive Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be the primary conduit for HR support and deliverables with their business clients. You must be a trusted advisor and confidant to business leaders on all business needs and related talent issues. The HR Director will also manage a direct report (HRBP Senior Manager) and expected to leverage partnerships with other HR leaders in Talent Acquisition, Performance and Development, and Total Rewards in the implementation, roll-out and management of programs to support and enhance the business.

In support of executing on this commitment, there will be an opportunity to build and redesign policies, processes and tools, as well as impact the HR service delivery model. This requires fresh leadership thinking, behavior, and processes. The Human Resources Director will be a critical advisor, contributor, and driver in TWG’s efforts to enhance and continuously improve business and HR processes, tools and results to successfully navigate the changing industry and help ensure TWG’s leadership position and success within the industry.
Essential Functions
  • Lead Human Resources for team members and people managers within the Commercial and Corporate organizations (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and HR) for any human resources related issues and activities. Build strong business relationships with the client leadership teams;
  • Provide coaching and advice to leaders on people and organization capability issues; including leading organization change management (OCM) related initiatives and work streams;
  • Conduct regular workforce and business reviews with business leaders to manage employee engagement and attrition risks, retention, staffing metrics, employee productivity and performance, and diversity efforts;
  • Work with leadership and Talent Acquisition team to accelerate TWG’s ability to hire talent necessary to support growth and business evolution;
  • Ensure consistent application of employee policies and practices and oversee and own employment law compliance;
  • Assess and build talent and candidate pipelines and workforce plans; ensuring viable and timely succession and development plans are in place;
  • Work closely with client’s leadership to reinforce an accountable, performance driven culture and team committed to consistently meeting or exceeding goals, utilizing approaches consistent with the company’s mission, vision and cultural values;
  • Collaborate with HR CoE teams to meet all organizational design and capability needs;
Other Functions
  • This job description reflects management’s assignment of general functions; it does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
  • Work with other departments such as Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, etc. across the company to facilitate resolution of employee related issues;
  • Travel will be variable, likely 20% - 35%. Expectation is to be visible enough that client groups feel an appropriate level of engagement and presenteeism;
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Ability to multi-task and simultaneously successfully manage a number of high priorities, complex projects, delivering timely and positive results with a high level of attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated skills and ability assessing organizational trends and developing and implementing appropriate solutions;
  • Strong listening, communication and diagnostic skills (listening, probing, analyzing) and executing on agreed-upon outcomes;
  • Fifteen-plus (15+) years of progressive Human Resource Business Partner experience, ideally in a fast-paced consumer products company; experience in the alc-bev industry an added advantage;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field; advanced degree preferred;
  • Human Resources Certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence (EQ) and someone who is highly responsive and empathetic and garners respect of employees and business leaders;
  • Three-plus (3+) years of experience in an HR Center of Expertise (CoE) vertical, preferably in a leadership role;
  • Solid team management and strong proven personal leadership capabilities;
  • Proven experience using HR related data to communicate and drive business decisions;
  • Proven ability to coach and counsel individuals across all levels of the organization;
  • Demonstrated success in influencing senior business leaders, including guiding change management strategies;
  • Knowledge of progressive HR practices in organizational development, talent management, compensation, performance management, coaching, employee relations and change management;
Physical Demands
  • Primary work will take place in an office environment; however, employee must be able to travel to and traverse The Wine Group’s vineyards, wineries and other facilities from time to time.
Compensation
  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $158,200 - $237,300
  • Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
