Director Financial Controlling - US Operations & Hard Cheese Platform
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
This role is based in Chicago at Bel USA's headquarter office and reports directly to the Global Operations Finance Director and finance business partner of the Platform Industrial Director. This E2E controlling director role will focus on providing support and collaboration of a wide range of Industrial Finance activities, including but not limited to:
  • Planning activities (strategic, operational, budgeting and forecasting),
  • Support, development and implementation of financial control standards and procedures
  • Optimization of capital and asset actions
  • Direct management of 2 positions (US Sr. Finance Manager purchasing and COMAN controller/Platform controller assistant)
  • Providing leadership and guidance for factory controlling activities (US and platform HC)
  • Productivity and performance animation: set the right level of ambition, achievement tracking and action plans management
The Director Financial Controlling will ensure very tight collaboration with market finance director, to provide accurate support on COGS actuals, understanding and animate together perspectives based on latest assumptions of commercial activities and COGS updates.
Knowledge And Qualifications
  • Experience in leadership of cross-functional teams and fostering teamwork with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or another related field is preferred, undergraduate degree is required.
  • French language skills a plus, but not required.
  • Experience and exposure working in US and global teams, and strong understanding of French accounting principles and US ways of working preferred.
  • 10+ years of finance experience with specific experience in industrial finance and controlling is required.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning competencies are required.
  • Results orientated and pragmatic with ability to challenge status quo and drive change .
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder’s relationship management and ability to communicate effectively with cross functional partners.
Performance Expectations: Accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and thoroughness of work performed; ability to gain the trust and respect of management, coworkers, and brokers; maintain the integrity of confidential business and product information; ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with other employees is essential to accomplish goals and objectives of the department.
  • Working Conditions: Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40-45 hours per week. This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in Chicago Loop office. There will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. Some travel within the US and internationally is anticipated with this role.
