ADUSA Procurement provides end-to-end supply chain optimization and visibility to support the delivery of product from a supplier to the warehouse. ADUSA is a partner company to Retail Business Services, the services company of leading grocery retail group Ahold Delhaize USA, which includes Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford and Stop & Shop.


This role facilitates strategic, long-range planning for the ADUSA Commercial & Supply Chain organization, driving the formulation of strategic initiatives and supporting the development of long-term growth plans and overarching functional strategies. This work includes identifying and analyzing emerging industry trends, incorporating them appropriately into strategic planning activities, as well as working closely with the senior leadership team on strategy formulation and execution. The Director Strategy oversees a team of strategy managers supporting this work.


Qualifications:


  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Proven ability to form productive, lasting relationships across business lines
  • Advanced PowerPoint, and presentation skills
  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate/influence effectively across varying audiences
  • Executive presentation development; oral, visual and written
  • Experience leading teams
  • Strong change management skills
  • Ability to drive ideas from conceptual stage through to hand-off for execution
  • Intimate knowledge of approaches to build strategies and various supporting strategic frameworks
  • 10+ years’ experience in retail, commercial, supply chain, consulting, or related industries
  • Experience leading strategy development and implementation for a large, matrixed enterprise preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Strategic Planning Acumen
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Financial accumen
  • Experience developing and enacting long-term growth strategies
  • Similar role elsewhere and/or consulting experience preferred
  • Ability to “lead up”, influence key stakeholders at the senior leadership level
  • Supply Chain and/or Commercial background


Responsibilities:
  • Develops executive level presentations for strategy refinement, business case management and activation to secure necessary buy-in and influence to move the strategy work forward.
  • Partnering with finance on financial assessments of various strategies
  • Responsible for the development, talent planning and performance management of associates.
  • Develops and presents future project proposals to the executive team, highlighting how new business opportunities are expected to promote sustainable business growth.
  • Ensure the success of associates through effective communication, sharing clear goals, expectations, objectives, while providing constructive feedback and encouraging self–development.
  • Responsible for partnering with each Commercial and Supply Chain function to develop function specific strategies and aid in the development of the overall strategy.
  • Influencing leadership teams of strategic opportunities
  • Leads the development of the long-range strategy, understanding financial impacts, and translation of long- term plan into annual plans for the business.
  • Responsible for developing and managing the strategic ambitions and outcomes of the forward-looking vision for the overall Commercial and Supply Chain organization.
  • Identifying key market/industry trends/dynamics
  • Developing and maintaining strategic priorities and roadmap for development and implementation
  • Drives the annual strategic planning and integrated business planning process (EBR) for Commercial and Supply Chain. Includes but is not limited to:
  • Responsible for relationships and connectivity to other strategy functions within the organization to facilitate size and scale while also enabling brand specific strategies.
  • Works with operational functions and portfolio management to ensure strategic plans are successfully handed off for execution.
  • Developing key opportunities and identifying risks
