Job Description
Syros is committed to developing new standards of care for the frontline treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies. Driven by the motivation to help patients with blood disorders that have largely eluded other targeted approaches, Syros is focused on advancing a late-stage clinical pipeline, including tamibarotene, an oral selective RARα agonist in patients with higher-risk myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia with RARA gene overexpression, and SY-2101, a novel oral form of arsenic trioxide in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Reporting to the Vice President, Chemical Pharmaceutical Development & Operations, the Director/Sr. Director, Global Supply Chain Operations will independently coordinate and lead activities for both clinical and commercial. These activities include review of study protocols, design of labels, preparation of packaging and labelling contracts, and forecasting and ordering supplies. The incumbent candidate will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of Clinical Trial Supplies Packaging with Chemical Pharmaceutical Development & Operations, Clinical Operations, Commercial, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs with the objective of establishing a plan to have clinical supplies available within the agreed time frame.



Responsibilities


  • Manage a team of direct report(s) and consultants
  • Author global supply chain and logistics related content in regulatory submissions such as INDs, NDA, IMPD, CTA, investigational brochures, clinical protocols, pharmacy manuals etc.
  • Provide oversight of logistics, labeling, packaging, distribution at CROs for all clinical assets. Develop strategic plans with key stakeholders with continuous forecasting, communicating manufacturing needs
  • Responsible for the Global Supply Chain and Logistics strategy, budget, planning, timelines, risk-mitigation, and forecasts for Syros clinical and upcoming commercial assets
  • Responsible for establishing and overseeing Sales & Operations Planning process for commercial supplies. Work cross functionally with Chemical & Pharmaceutical Development & Operations, Quality Assurance, Clinical/Commercial, Regulatory, Finance and Legal to translate clinical/commercial demand forecast into a supply forecast for drug substance, drug product and finished goods for assigned programs/projects  
  • Lead planning and implementation of commercial supply activities including secondary packaging, artwork, labeling, serialization, logistics, 3PL distribution. Collaborate with Commercial to ensure strategy, timelines, risk mitigation plans for a successful global commercial launch
  • Responsible for functional SOPs, PAI readiness etc. in collaboration with Quality Assurance
  • Partner with Finance on month-end inventory reconciliation, issuance of purchase orders and payment of invoices
  • Provide oversight to warehousing, distribution and logistics of shipments including working with freight forwarders & brokers on import/export
  • Lead inventory management / ERP implementation efforts and subsequently maintain data within ERP as it relates to supply chain and inventory management

  • Flexible and responsive to the changes in the supply chain environment. Focuses on speed, cost efficiency, responsiveness, flexibility, and productivity in the production and delivery of goods  
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with suppliers, CMOs and internal stakeholders 
  • Industry aware keeping abreast with trends, developments, and technologies within the field of supply chain, locally and internationally to understand the impact of these on Syros.  




Job Requirements


  • A minimum of 10+ years of Clinical Supply / Clinical Packaging / Project Coordination experience in the pharmaceutical industry or CRO
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and relevant global regulations is essential
