The Employee Relations (ER) Director will be a member of the global ER team and be responsible for championing the colleague experience by leveraging Company culture, values, while ensuring legally compliant equitable resolutions to employee relations issues. The ER Director will be a solutions oriented strategic and hands on leader responsible for delivering high quality colleague relations counsel, guidance and support to multiple lines of business across several US based geographies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Director will prepare and conduct front line and leadership training on employment and labor matters to maintain a positive, productive workforce and to ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws to mitigate risk to the business.
  • The Director will be responsible for the handling of a broad range of tasks and initiatives including reorganizations, reductions in force management, crisis management, policy drafting and project work.
  • The Director will be responsible for the coaching/development of a team of ER Manager and Specialist direct reports and work collaboratively with the broader ER team as well as a variety of key stakeholders such as HR, Legal, Security, Medical, Compliance and Business Leadership, supporting a culture of teamwork, partnership and engagement.
  • The ER Director must be capable of developing proactive solutions by remaining current on emerging trends and leveraging internal and external data.
  • The ER Director is responsible for handling a broad spectrum of complex and sensitive colleague concerns and investigations, including interpersonal conflict in the workplace, performance management, policy interpretation and adherence, discipline, complaints, allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and do so by providing guidance and counsel to leaders and colleagues on the same.

The ER Director will report the Vice President, US, ER.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Experience in developing communications, training, policies and data analytics.
  • A solid understanding of federal and state labor/employment laws and governmental compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environment and be comfortable working with every level of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to identify trends and provide proactive solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Experience with a Shared Service Delivery model along with strong working knowledge of HR systems and operations preferred.
  • The ability to make tough decisions and influence decisions using sound judgment to draw valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action.
  • Strong business acumen and analytics around data, reporting.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience and knowledge in HR with a concentration on Employee Relations.
  • 4+ years demonstrated experience in a supervisory/leadership role preferred. Passion for developing people and strong teamwork.
  • Strong knowledge of HR disciplines around change management, training facilitation, presentation skills, consultative skills, conflict management and ability to interpret and apply HR Policies and Procedures.

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
