Job Description

Position Summary:

The Director of Accessories Products is responsible for developing the North American marketing strategy and stewarding the annual commercial plan for new market growth of HEW’s portfolio of adhesives, sealants, and tape products. Leveraging the strength of our AdvanTech® and ZIP System® brands and technologies, the Director of Accessories Products will seek new growth pathways to create stable returns by focusing on new markets, new users, new channels, or new product needs. This role establishes the business direction for pricing and channel strategies, product development, and communications related to new market growth. The leader of the Accessories product portfolio will work closely with all HEW functions and technology partners to drive organizational direction and activities needed to maximize long term profit for HEW. The role requires an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who is comfortable working in white space and who has a proven record of creating new business platforms.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as key account manager for select HEW technology partners responsible for accessory product lines
  • Employees, HEW Board of Directors, and Huber Family
  • Interface with all core functional areas within Huber including: R&D, Marketing, Finance, Strategy, Manufacturing, Sales, Logistics, Marketing Communications, National Accounts and Supply Chain along with external entities including customers, industry leaders, trade organizations, etc.
  • Interact regularly with existing and new customers and technology partners to ensure strong understanding of product and segment growth opportunities
  • Manage all aspects of our Amazon/e-Commerce and Home Center channels for accessory products
  • Manage the Accessories P&L (volume, price, discounts, COGS, department expense budget, etc.) to maximize long term profit for HEW and deliver annual profit goals
  • Develop and implement a North American accessories strategy that leverages the strength of existing products, brands, and technologies to deliver incremental growth of accessory products
  • Lead the development and execution of annual business plans designed to accelerate accessory product growth with a focus on new markets, new users, new channels, or new product development
  • Hire, coach and develop the Accessories product team
  • Conduct periodic market research to understand adjacent industries, market trends, and customer needs
  • Lead the management of all aspects of product, pricing, promotion, placement, and supply chain for Accessory products that target new growth opportunities
  • Create a compelling vision for the Accessories business and communicate this vision at all levels – HEW

Requirements & Preferred Competencies:

  • Ability to work in white space to create and execute compelling strategies and business plans
  • Building industry/sector experience preferred
  • MBA or master’s preferred; minimum two years in current role
  • Experience at managing people preferred
  • Strong understanding of marketing including product management, product development, P&L experience, and marketing communications
  • Ability to effectively communicate, written and oral, with all functional departments
  • Proven record of creating new business platforms
  • Minimum 8 years in Product Management, Marketing, Strategy and/or New Business Development or a related field
  • Excellent people skills with an acute ability to develop relationships across functional areas
  • Proven record as leader with solid business acumen and organizational savvy
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
