DESCRIPTION

Dialysis Nurse - Per Diem $40/hour

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Complete patient assessment pre- and post-dialysis and document using the appropriate format on the treatment plan.
  • Ensure that nephrologist is aware of current patient assessment and report pertinent data affecting the present or future dialysis treatment.
  • Responsible for the entire dialysis treatment functioning smoothly and effectively stressing the highest quality of nursing care.
  • Perform disinfection of dialysis machines, RO machines, or water treatment, every treatment or as indicated per policy. Take water/dialysate samples on each machine as indicated per policy.
  • Communicate with the attending/nephrologist to assess and ascertain patient goals for each dialysis treatment.
  • Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment for the dialysis patient.
  • To provide acute hemodialysis treatment for the dialysis patient.
Prerequisites:
  • Minimum of 2 years hemodialysis experience.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Graduate from an accredited Registered Nursing Associates Degree Program required.
  • Successful completion of Pharmacology exam.
  • Knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
