Recovery Café San José is hiring a half-time Fund Development Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Fund Development Manager is responsible for coordinating development activities. He/ She/They report to the Executive Director and work closely with the ED, Development Associate/Volunteer Manager, contract grant writers and Finance staff. The individual will also work with RCSJ's Development committee of board members and community volunteers to help with fundraising activities. The Development Manager plays a key role by providing support to the fund development efforts and participating in all fundraising activities including donor relations, marketing and communications, direct mail appeals, and special events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
● In coordination with other staff, utilizes a donor database, including generating fundraising reports. ● Provides support to various committees and volunteers during fundraising campaigns and events. ● Assists with event registrations and the creation and finalization of guest lists.
● Coordinates correspondence to potential donors, volunteers and guests.
● Assists with grant research, and proposals as necessary.
● Coordinate tracking of grant pipeline and reporting
● Creates fundraising reports as needed.
● Conducts preliminary research on prospective corporate, foundation and individual donors. ● Maintains donor files
● Coordinates fundraising appeals and fundraising strategies.
● Maintains registration materials and other duties as assigned for fundraising events. ● Assembles donor kits for events and meetings.
● Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field. In lieu of a degree, candidates may substitute two to
three years’ experience in a field related to nonprofits and fundraising.
● A minimum of two years' experience in an, preferably in a not-for-profit development office
● Experience in organizing fundraising events is preferred but not required; on-the-job training is available.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Database management experience.
● Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
● Ability to organize and prioritize work
● Ability to work independently with little supervision
● Excellent interpersonal skills
● A self-starter, data and deadline driven, and ability to multi-task with solid organizational and time-management skills.
● Displays exceptional time-management and organizational skills as needed for meeting deadlines. ● Demonstrates a professional demeanor whether speaking to others in person, over the phone, via email or through letters.
● Works well alone as well as under direct supervision.
● Has the ability to work flexible work hours including occasional evenings, and weekends.
COMPENSATION
The Fund Development Manager compensation range is $32-$35 per hour and is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications. This position is half-time (typically 20 hours per week.) Recovery Cafe San Jose carefully follows Santa Clara County Covid-19 protocol. The expectation is primarily working on site in our downtown San José facility; on occasion some work may be completed remotely.
