Purpose



The Desktop Support Analyst's role is to support and maintain the credit union’s computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. That includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all organizational hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via work order) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance where required.

DUTIES:


  • Provide support to end users for Desktops, Laptops, peripherals, Microsoft Windows OS, MacOS and various software.
  • Resolve end user IT issues desk-side or using remote tools
  • Assist with moving computers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Install appropriate software on systems as required.
  • Prepare and configure client systems for install and delivery.


Requirements


  • Must be able to speak English fluently.
  • A+ Certification or comparable on-the-job experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot software.
  • Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions.
  • Familiarity with personal computer equipment, PC operating systems, and software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and work methods.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve PC and laptop hardware issues, install hardware including hard drives, memory, monitors, keyboards, mice, and USB drives.
  • Four year or higher degree preferred or Associate of Arts degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) or minimum of one year experience in various Information Technology related functions.


Job Environment


  • Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Office setting with physical proximity to other employees.


Physical Demands


  • Must be able to comprehend phone calls.
  • Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Use hands and fingers to press telephone keypad and lift telephone receiver.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Job requires a substantial amount of sitting.
  • Use hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter or retrieve information.
