Make design layouts and production drawings and be capable of assuring form, fit, and function of components through dimensional studies.
The Role
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Design Engineer to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.
A hybrid work schedule option may be available following an initial onsite training period.
The key responsibilities of this Design Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to make drawings for production and customers.
- Prepares designs and specifications.
- Possess a working knowledge of PTC Creo and Windchill.
- Interfaces with customers and vendors to assure conformance to customer specifications.
- Assists in generation of layouts.
- Perform the functions required to process estimate requests and marketing product requests.
- Review customer documents for compliance with internal documents and if necessary prepare new designs to conform to these documents.
- Coordinate the manufacturing of customer prototypes.
- Interfaces with other departments for the manufacturing and testing of samples.
- Keep supervision informed of status of all activities on a periodic basis.

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Design Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in Design or Design Engineering
- Willing to travel
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo is preferred but not required
