Department Overview
Diablo Canyon Power Plant's (DCPP) Maintenance Department is responsible for performing maintenance and modification to plant systems, structures, and components during power operations and refueling outages periods.
Position Summary
This is an IBEW Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E.
This position's principal duties consists of maintaining inventory of tools, consumables, measurement and test equipment in the assigned tool room including work in radiological controlled areas at a commercial nuclear power plant.
You must be able to wear company provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including but not limited to: hard hat: safety glasses; safety goggles; gloves; full body fall protection harnesses; ear plugs and/or muffs; safety vests; raingear; fire resistant clothing consisting of long sleeve shirts/pants and/or coveralls.
To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. ​
Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $46.83 to $52.83, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.
Responsibilities

• Repair damaged tooling
• Calibrate torque wrenches and crimpers
• Maintain inventory of tools, consumables, and measurement and test equipment in the assigned tool room
• May be required to operate a forklift in the performance of duties
• Order replacement stock
• Routinely inspect and cleaning equipment and facilities related to tool control
• Perform data entry using various software on a daily basis related to tool inventory and calibration along with other record keeping duties
• Issue and receive materials

Qualifications
Minimum:

• Ability to transport material up to 500 pounds in carts
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain one on first day of employment
• Ability and willingness to work weekends, night shifts, extended hours, holidays, with rotating days off, and be available for emergency overtime
• Ability to bend, stoop, and twist; climb including ladders and stairs; and stand or sit for long periods of time
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED
• Ability and willingness to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds a minimum of one time a day

Desired:

• Possess intermediate computer skills (MS Office, SAP)
• 6 months of tool maintenance experience at a commercial nuclear power plant
• Experience using basic hand and power tools
• Live within 50 miles of headquarters
• Experience using measuring and test equipment
• Excellent communication skills
