Daycare Aide - Winter 23/24

Current Hiring Rate:$16.00 (non-exempt, hourly role)

Daycare Aides (at least 15 years of age) are responsible for the care and supervision of children in the Daycare Center. Duties include assisting in activities, serving lunch, changing diapers in the infant and toddler rooms, leading snow play activities, cleaning the Daycare before, during and at the end of the day, and any additional duties that would normally be expected in a Daycare setting. Must have a Central Background Registry (CBR) Number. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Assist in activities, serving lunch, changing diapers in the infant and toddler rooms, leading snowplay activities, and any additional duties that would normally be expected in a Daycare setting.
• Clean Daycare facilities before, during, and at the end of the day
• Aides will be directly supervised and work within sight and sound of a qualified Daycare Teacher when caring for children. Aides with work alongside their paired teacher each shift in their daily designated programming room.

Specific Job Skills:
License/Certifications- First Aid and child's CPR (online training is not acceptable). Must complete a minimum of two hours of training regarding child abuse and neglect, OCC-approved health and safety training, and safe sleep training within 30 days of employment.
Technical- None
Additional- A background check will be run prior to employment; Child Development and Education background a plus.

Education/Related Experience:
Minimum education required- High School Diploma or equivalent. Please see Qualifications Sheet for more information.
Minimum time in related position- Some experience with children.

• While performing the duties of this role, the employee will be required to frequently bend, reach, climb, lift up to 35 pounds, push, pull, and stand for prolonged periods of time. This individual will occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat, sun, and cold. Additionally, the position will require occasional confined sitting, concentrated reading and writing, hand/eye coordination, and frequent rapid reactions to changes.
