What You Will Be Doing

• Read and comprehend existing production code to understand transformations and business logic in performing root cause analysis, debugging, or analytical investigation.

• Perform thorough data exploration to assess data quality and identify data anomalies or inconsistencies.
• Read, transform, and analyze data to address business and investment research questions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems, develop hypotheses, and design experiments to test them.
• Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders through visualizations, summaries, and presentations.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of our data pipelines, models, and analytics.
• Write clean, modular, idiomatic code that in addition to meeting business requirements can be extended and reused.
• Execute the end-to-end process of dashboard development from gathering and understanding requirements, profiling existing data, and building out data structures and visualizations.
• Profile and assess potential new data sources to determine their business value in investment decision-making or property management.

What You Need for this Position

• Proficiency in writing Python with at least one year of experience using Python as a primary programming language.
• Proficiency with SQL (of any dialect) and a working knowledge of relational data models.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Passionate about using data to drive business outcomes.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Basic understanding of software engineering processes and tools such as version control, testing, and documentation.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Thoroughness and tenacity in data cleaning, exploration, data profiling, and data quality assessment.
• Professional experience with an industry-standard BI or visualization tool. Experience with Looker is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Professional experience with any of the following is beneficial but not required:

• Databricks
• Writing or working with deployed-to-production code
• Building end-to-end data pipelines

• Working in a cloud environment (AWS a plus)
• Spark and/or PySpark
