Data Scientist / Analyst Jobs

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to help build a Security Incident Response Team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data stored in AWS S3 buckets, physical and virtual appliances, and other assets to gather and organize the appropriate data for a strong response to future incidents. You will work closely with a team of security experts to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends in large datasets, leveraging advanced analytical techniques and machine learning algorithms. Your insights and findings will contribute to enhancing our organization's security posture and improving incident response processes.
Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports to present complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge and experience working with AWS services, particularly S3, for data extraction, storage, and analysis.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques, with hands-on experience using Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
• Design and implement models and algorithms to automate data analysis and decision-making processes, contributing to the development of scalable and efficient solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security engineers, IT professionals, and data engineers, to ensure seamless integration of data analysis capabilities into existing systems and workflows.
• Collaborate with the Security Incident Response Team to define data-driven strategies and develop actionable insights for incident detection, containment, and response.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. A master's or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate complex data findings.
• Contribute to the overall improvement of data quality, data management, and data governance practices to ensure accurate and reliable analysis results. Qualifications:
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of documentation, including data dictionaries, model descriptions, and best practices for data science and analytics within the security incident response context.
• Familiarity with security concepts, incident response frameworks, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Apply statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends in large datasets.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in the domain of security or incident response.
• Solid understanding of database systems and SQL proficiency for data querying and manipulation.
• Utilize AWS services and technologies, particularly S3, to extract, preprocess, and analyze data relevant to security incidents.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, AWS services, and security technologies, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance the incident response process.
