MARTA is building out an enterprise Data Governance Program. You will be working with MARTA leaders to mature data capability by ensuring that our data is well managed, fit for purpose, and delivering maximum value. A successful data governance program will support the MARTA expansion program, accelerate performance improvements, and improve reliability of information for business decisions and for our customers.

How will you impact MARTA

As a Data Management Analyst, you will play a critical role in designing, documenting, and implementing data management systems, and procedures, and analyzing complex data sets to uncover valuable insights. You will work closely with business partners to understand their data needs and translate those needs into actionable requirements for data collection, storage, and analysis. With your expertise in data management technologies and practices, you will develop innovative strategies to improve data quality and integrity and help drive informed decision-making across the organization. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who is passionate about building efficient and effective data management processes that can drive meaningful business insights.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with stewards to help resolve data quality issues.
• Provide data stewards with necessary reports/tools to work consistently on increasing data quality from collection to usage.
• Evaluate existing data models, structure, and data flow to identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with business and functional areas to identify and maintain critical data assets and the single source of truth for enterprise-wide KPI reporting.
• Design and maintain data quality monitoring practices to ensure that reports and analyses are complete, timely and accurate every time.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop and maintain data catalogs and business glossaries.
• Conduct studies to identify and address system integration problems related to data and IT systems.
• Design and implement ETL processes to streamline data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Stays up-to-date with latest developments and trends in Global Data Governance and Master Data Management.

Education/Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of six years’ experience in database systems design and usage for business performance management. Must have the ability to customize network and enterprise software products and reports. Must be able to perform complex analysis, write and generate complex reports. Highly effective planning, verbal, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills required. Must be proficient in the use of Oracle and/or SQL systems, data warehousing, Access databases, Visual Basic programming, OLAP technology, Power BI, and advanced concepts of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, API Interactions, Social Media Mining, SQL, Machine Learning, R, Git/GitHub is preferred. In lieu of degree, directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
