  • 7 years of experience with quantitative analysis, including financial modeling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as required.
  • 7 years of experience in the electric power industry, structuring and negotiating agreements.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 7 years of experience in energy project development, utility procurement, or finance/consulting roles with similar responsibilities.
  • Experience in the electric power industry, structuring and negotiating agreements, preferably with renewable and carbon-free technologies, or with origination, consulting, or investment banking.
  • Knowledge of energy transaction structuring, power markets, utility rates, renewable energy technologies, and/or infrastructure project management.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate on projects requiring inputs from multiple teams.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
About The Job
As an Energy Strategic Negotiator, you will analyze and communicate trends, evaluate supply, investment opportunities, and structures. You will work with project teams to support transactions, energy portfolio planning, and vendor and partner relationship management. You will develop and communicate recommendations based on this analysis, drive innovation in the energy industry and impact every part of the business. In this role, you will evaluate new energy supply and infrastructure opportunities, contribute to strategic initiatives and manage projects, and collaborate with teams across the company in support of Google data center portfolio and related infrastructure. You will focus on modeling, analytics, and presentation of our energy procurement strategy.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$203,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the growth of Google data-center portfolio through energy due diligence during site selection and data-center project development.
  • Lead transactions negotiations and structuring for energy supply, renewable energy power purchase agreements, partnerships, and other data-center related energy agreements.
  • Set strategy for Google energy procurement program, including the procurement of carbon-free energy in support of clean energy goals.
  • Develop and lead deal approvals, investment memos, and other transaction related materials with executives and partner teams, working with team members and cross-company partner teams (Engineering, Finance, Legal, Accounting, etc).
  • Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers including utilities, project developers, etc.
