Job Description

We need you as a Power Harvesting Program Manager (PHPM) - Data Center (DC) with the primary focus at increasing Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) by being a key member of Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) in the capacity analysis and optimization of the Information Technologies (IT) capacity, working closely with Electrical Engineers, Planning Organizations, and Critical Environment Field Service Engineers.

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I PHPM-DC, you will perform a key role in delivering data center capacity for core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. By enabling data center capacity through increased Infrastructure Utilization Effectiveness (IUE) and Power Harvesting (PH), you will lead the In-Fill program enabling fragmented capacity for our customers in our existing fleet. Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver against established Objective Key Results (OKRs) through innovative approaches to power harvesting against a set of constraints.
  • Prioritize workload based on customer needs and achievement of established OKRs.
  • Manages the assigned projects or programs to meet service delivery objectives and escalates to appropriate stakeholders to remove obstacles.
  • Leverage supply chain professionals to manage relationships with clients and suppliers to ensure that all expectations are clarified, understood, documented, and met.
  • Develop solutions through partnership of key stakeholders, leveraging of Subject matter experts (SMEs), and conduct individual contributions as part of the deliverables.
  • Manage the development of scope, schedule, and cost for projects to include coordination of vendors onsite and execute to completion. PHPMs are accountable for the projects end to end.
  • Build relationships of key stakeholder teams and leverage their business forums to ensure alignment of project deliverables allowing the team to scale.

  • Suggests improvements in implementation based on depth of understanding.
  • Collaborates and negotiates effectively with others and seeks guidance from management to identify delegates to deliver results.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient with with Microsoft Office products to include; power point, excel, office, visio, PowerBI, project professional, and Teams.
  • Great curiosity and willingness to question
  • Attention to detail and high commitment to accuracy and auditing
  • Have a deep desire to work collaboratively & solve problems with groups
  • Previous Data Center exposure/experience to operations, planning, and engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries

  • High level of independent thinking, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, bias for action, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in leading vteams developing and launching scalable programs leveraging technology, tooling, and business processes.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
