Job Description
The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of a supply chain operation. The


DCM provides overall direction and oversight in the areas of performance, safety, P&L management,


customer relations, continuous improvement, and associate development

Distribution Center Manager Responsibilities:


  • Maximizes quality and productivity by understanding and mastering all job standards for each function and evaluating performance variances to identify root cause, corrective action, and training needs
  • Evaluate overall operations and develop short and long-term goals to meet organizational objectives
  • Direct the operations of distribution, packaging, and transportation to achieve company objectives and meet customer expectations
  • Deliver a consistent, high-performance experience to our associates and customer
  • Reviews KPIs and makes recommendations for efficiency improvements to both processes and associate performance
  • Know and be capable of communicating quality, food safety, and customer standards to all employees, customers, and 3rd party auditors as needed
  • Follow corporate and site-specific safety policies and procedures, and correct noncompliance when observed
  • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and government regulatory requirements
  • Participates in the collection of performance measurements per customer, vendor and/or site requirements
  • Directly manage budget and P&L for operations
  • Know and be capable of communicating safety policies and procedures to all employees as needed
  • Follow corporate and site-specific safety policies and procedures, and correct noncompliance when observed.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and make decisions about enhancing value, service and effectiveness, and profitability
  • Develop work plans ensuring appropriate staffing levels, managing labor costs, overtime, and retention
  • Prepares and submits weekly and monthly reports
  • Establishes a strong relationship with the customer(s)
  • Oversee all warehousing, distribution, packaging, and transportation operations to ensure company and customer requirements are met
  • Direct and oversee programs to ensure safety of all associates, equipment, and property
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and correct noncompliance when observed

Requirements


Distribution Center Manager Requirements:


  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, databases, WMS, and other metrics measurement tools
  • Experience with ADP platforms, including E-Time, Enterprise, ADPRM helpful
  • Strong organizational skills
  • May require experience managing multiple buildings
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the operation's needs
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and reasoning skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and communication styles
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics or business-related field 10+ years management experience and comprehensive knowledge in a high volume fast paced 3PL, distribution, warehouse, and transportation environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Strong demonstrated management of P&L
  • Strong presentation, writing and speaking proficiency
