Data Analyst/Financial Analyst

A leading Law Firm in the NYC area is actively looking to hire a Data Analyst to join their team! Some industries that the firm assists in are Financial Institutions, Investment Funds, Not-for-Profit Institutions, and Governmental Entities. The candidate will be responsible for the generation of detailed reporting and analytics to help the firm evaluate financial performance, business trends and the economics of the firm. The candidate is expected to develop a strong understanding of the attributes that impact firm financial performance and use that information to prepare insightful reporting to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for loading and verifying data received into Power BI
• Develops reports and data analysis using advanced functionality within Microsoft Power BI/Excel
• The ideal candidate will deliver focused reporting and business analytics for the firm
• Prepares and presents concise summaries to explain findings, limitations and recommendations based upon actionable insight
• Designs, develops, delivers and maintains efficient reports, visualizations and dashboard solutions to enhance end users understanding of information
• Work closely with end users in developing new visualizations in Power BI and ad hoc reporting requests
• Assist in compiling and loading historical data sets into the proprietary databases
• Assist in the implementation of new systems or modules

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of BI solutions and their component tiers: Data Integration/ETL, Data Warehouses/Marts, Business/Metadata layers, Dashboards/Reports, etc.
• 3+ years of experience in data modeling
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Detail-oriented, strong attention to detail without compromise of deadlines
• Exposure to Power BI Desktop and SQL
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Capacity to multi-task with relentless attention to accuracy and detail
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel
