Market Data Analyst Jobs

Hedge fund is looking for a Market Data Associate to join our team to support our the real-time, reference, and fundamental market data needs. In this role, you will support our expanding data requirements and strategic business initiatives by working directly with our investment professionals and others across the firm globally on their data needs.

The Market Data team within Technology Management takes a research-oriented and strategic approach to discovering new avenues of insight, manages the inflow of compliant data into our team’s process, and is responsible for managing effective and efficient data and research partnerships on behalf of the firm.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with the business, Compliance, and Legal to negotiate commercial and legal terms with data providers, mitigate business risk, and set priorities for contract execution
• Manage relationships with market data providers and assist with onboarding new vendors and products
• Collaborate with Technology, Finance, Legal, Compliance and other internal teams to deliver on the firm’s market data needs
• Monitor service change notifications and alerts from exchanges and other key market data suppliers and effectively communicate to internal stakeholders
• Coordinate and fulfill market data requests with vendors and internal support functions, ensuring timely service that is aligned with business, contractual, and compliance requirements
• Work cross-functionally to communicate requirements around the control and distribution of data to ensure that our usage of market data does not breach third-party supplier agreements.
• Stay current on market data providers and product offerings. Identify, evaluate, and introduce new sources to relevant groups within the Firm
• Assist with administration of real-time data feed permissions for individuals and applications

What’s required:

• Experience in contract and pricing negotiations
• A Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic excellence
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across multiple business units within the firm
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• 4+ years of experience with exposure to market data providers and services
• Adherence to the highest ethical standards and ability to work closely with the firm’s Compliance team
