Collects, evaluates, and prepares research and/or other complex statistical data for a specific institution unit. Prepares statistical and narrative reports and recommendations and participates in the analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate. Develops, maintains, and ensures quality control of databases and may assist in developing and implementing measurement systems. They bring technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data, then process, design, and present it to help people, departments, and the institution make better decisions. Under limited supervision, builds and maintains data workflows, dashboards, and analytics projects. Delivers quantitative analyses in presentation-ready formats to internal and external customers. This position is fully remote.
Position Hourly Range: $33.65 - $36.05/hour
Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate's qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and summarize defined analyses into internal and external presentations from integrated data sources that reflect complex custom analytics and data stories.
- Develops and maintains technical skills/certifications. Keeps up to date on the industry, best practices, etc. May orient and train more junior level Analyst
- Executes within all areas of systems integration, hardware selection and configuration, prototype development, systems configurations, software/data installation and system software.
- Develops and maintain related dashboards.
- Assists in designing, developing, testing, and implementing custom-developed cloud-native data pipeline (ETL) solutions to support analysis, business results, and reporting requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Manipulates, integrates, and audits data using business intelligence tools that support analysis, business results, and reporting requirements.

- Actively participates in staff meetings and other planning meetings.
Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Experience with higher education systems
- Knowledge of research methodology, principles, and procedures
Abilities and Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Conduct complete lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, and design. Data analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements
- Ability to utilize statistical computer software
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Proven ability to provide detailed information and summaries to management-level individuals and groups and experience presenting technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Ability to prepare research reports and proposals
- Ability to prioritize workloads and resources, and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience
- Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
- Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and apply pertinent policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
- Strong organizational skills, with a methodical approach to all tasks
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or combined experience/education as a substitute for 5 years experience in higher education or related fields
Experience:
- Exemplary understanding of the nuanced messaging required for various audiences and communication channels
- Experience with large and complex distribution lists
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal oversight
