Job Description
The Clinical Quality & Safety Data Analyst provides advanced-level analysis and reports that support clinical and operational programs and activities; works independently to design and create reports, data models, visualization, document data requirements and develop data reporting systems; demonstrates initiative and creativity in accessing, aggregating and analyzing data; and provides support to customers and colleagues in managing and interpreting data. This requires the ability to engage in systematic problem solving and innovative thinking; attention to detail; customer focus and excellent communication; and a tolerance for ambiguity, changing priorities and unexpected events.
Essential Duties: • Designs complex custom scripts and programs leveraging multiple BI tools (CCL/DA2; Tableau/T-SQL; MS-SQL) to support KSOM quality initiatives • Collaborates with DOM clinical teams, IT and Sr leadership to transform data for use in visual interface for easier interpretation. • Manage multiple quality or safety projects and personnel to coordinate all aspects of implementation and delivery of tasks necessary for successful execution • Work with DoM to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions; use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; and take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences during business requirement gathering stage of a project/initiative. • Demonstrates strong computer skills and serves as resource to colleagues and others on matters pertaining to data management and analysis; effectively trains end-users on reporting tools • Develops effective communications with data for the DOM • Leads workshops and seminars to provide information that can be used in evaluation, planning and decision-making of quality related initiatives • Work with the Keck Health system EDW team leads and architects and outside SMEs in problem formulation, solution design, and report development. • Accountable for data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and stability to establish repeatable, sustainable processes. • Interpret system data with the operational needs to identify the potential process improvements. • Follow standard SDLC Keck IT processes to write code to automate reports and templates and consolidate data into reports • Document best practices following Keck IT architecture and solution frameworks. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Req Bachelor's degree Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field • Req 1 - 3 years Relevant experience with one or more BI, reporting or visualization tools • Req Experience working with EMR and/or healthcare data in an enterprise setting • Req Strong programming skills in SQL, Cerner CCL, BI tools like Qlik & Tableau. • Req Familiar with working in Data warehouse environment in relational databases and/or distributed computing platforms, and their query interfaces, such as SQL or Oracle & Hadoop. • Req Familiar with statistical methods of data analysis and predictive modelling techniques. • Req Strong content knowledge of healthcare quality programs (CMS Meaningful Use MU, QIP, MIPS) • Req Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Strong analytical and time management skills. Required Certifications: • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only) The annual base salary range for this position is $81,120.00 - $133,010.00.
