Team Introduction
The Vulnerability Management Team is responsible for identifying vulnerabilities on ByteDance assets by regular scans. This is done to ensure adherence to controls and regulatory standards. The team's main focus is on getting identified vulnerabilities remediated before any malicious individuals can exploit them. In support of that responsibility, you will play a pivotal role by contributing in the identification, assessment, reporting, and mitigation of potential vulnerabilities throughout our digital infrastructure.

Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2024. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship cycles below:
1.May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024
2.May 27, 2024 to August 16, 2024
3.June 10, 2024 to August 30, 2024
We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Responsibilities
Support the TikTok Global Security Organization in the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the Cybersecurity Program. Assignments may include:

• Assist in performing security audits and assessments, performing risk analyses.
• Stay current on security trends and news. Assist the Security team in developing company-wide security best practices.
• Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
• Create dashboards for metrics and reporting.
• Design and document operating procedures for security processes.
• Develop, create, maintain and write/code new (or modify) existing scripts and alerts, API integrations or specialized utility programs.
• Assist the Security team with special projects as assigned including, but not limited to, vulnerability scanning, management of lifecycle of discovered vulnerabilities, employee education, vendor assessments and client collateral requests.

Qualifications

• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a fast-paced work environment.
• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master degree in Computer Science, Cyber or Information Security, Data Science, Information Technology, Risk Management or related field.
• Have a deep interest in pursuing a career in security or risk including vulnerability assessment, intrusion/ threat detection, digital investigations, mobile device management, log analysis, identity and access management, monitoring, endpoint security, security compliance and control and security advocacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduating December 2024 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
• Excellent communications skills; including writing and verbal for a variety of audiences.
• Self-motivated, strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Job Information
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $30- $30. We cover 100% premium coverage for Full-Time intern medical insurance after 90 days from the date of hire. Medical coverage only, no dental or vision coverage.
