POSITION TITLE: CUSTODIAN II/ POOL
SALARY RANGE: $19.63 - $29.06 per hour

HOURS OF WORK: 1:30 P.M. – 10:00 P.M., Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB

FUNCTIONS: High school diploma or equivalent with six months of related experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires ability to obtain a Swimming Pool Operator’s License in first 3 months. ( Copies of all required certifications and licenses

POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to perform general cleaning, maintenance and security at the Recreation Center facilities, including a pool. The work is performed under the direction of the

Building Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Examples of): Performs custodial cleaning functions; cleans offices, windows, doors, stairwells, hallways, and restroom facilities; maintains supplies in restrooms; collects and empties trash and recyclables; sweeps, mops, vacuums and strips and polishes floors and carpets.

Performs grounds maintenance functions; plows and sands sidewalks and parking lots; mows lawns and trims trees and bushes. Tests water chemistry; adds appropriate chemicals; balances pool water; backwashes pool filter; cleans filter tank; vacuums pool. Cleans pool and athletic areas; sanitizes locker rooms, rest rooms, deck and bleachers; cleans the Natatorium and facilities adjacent to the pool; cleans offices, gym, weight rooms, windows, cafeteria and halls. Provides backup and assistance to other personnel, officials and visitors; assists with dispatching duties, assists in preparing and receiving reports and documents, etc. Performs general maintenance and minor repair functions; replaces light bulbs and filters; installs paper dispensers in restrooms.

Moves desks, chairs and furniture. Sets up meeting rooms. Sets security alarms; checks windows and doors.

Checks operation of heating and air conditioning systems. Reports problems with operation of heating and air conditioning systems. Receives, unloads, inspects and distributes deliveries. Performs other related functions as assigned or required. Please see PDF for full job description.
