Job Description
About The Opportunity


The Creative Director serve as the creative lead and creative decision maker for corporate, shoreside and onboard projects, campaigns and/or programs. This role provides the creative vision and direction for the execution and production of creative work including, but not limited to creative campaigns, digital publications, visual elements, video, and all other branded content — print and digital for both consumer and trade. As a qualified candidate, you will have experience creating, executing, and directing company creative designs while overseeing graphic design personnel internally and externally, to assign projects, develop and manage creative standards, and inspiring others to reach those standards. Requires specialized knowledge of methods and techniques of graphic design and printing procedures. Must be adept at reviewing creative briefs to execute all marketing initiatives from concept to final delivery. This position requires creativity and vision, superb attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities. It requires a proficiency in page layout, typography, color theory and photo manipulation. The Creative Manager will also oversee Digital creative, including website and emails, supported by a Campaign Manager —thus requiring excellent team interaction skills, both verbally and in writing. This role reports to the Vice President Marketing.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Provide proactive communications and status updates to the VP of Marketing, as well as Marketing team leads.
  • Organize and move projects along seamlessly through the marketing production process from start to completion, ensuring delivery in a timely manner.
  • Solicits feedback; takes action to continuously improve success of self and overall team.
  • Assist with file transfers and images requests as needed; maintains and communicates brand guidelines.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies
  • Prepare mockups, files and finished assets for specified projects.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure behavior and performance supports the company’s mission, vision, values and operating principles.
  • Supervises and develops Graphic Designer(s) both internally and external freelance team members to ensure work is assigned, managed, and delivered as planned, high creative quality and on time.
  • Proofread and spellcheck all projects throughout duration of project
  • Assist with additional projects as needed to support overall Marketing team’s mission and vision.
  • Responsible for videography and photography management, including creative asset share drive development, organization, and process management.
  • Design in-house documentation materials, fulfillment materials and on-board collateral.
  • Design consumer and trade marketing collateral materials from concept to completion (press-ready and digital files), including flyers, direct mail, brochures, emails, postcards, print advertising, banner ads, executive presentations, and more.


Requirements & Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • BA or AA in Graphic Arts, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Skills & Abilities


  • Calm demeanor and ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong portfolio of design work, demonstrating solutions to business problems through effective design.
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and procedures and learn new industry-related software
  • Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to keep key project leaders apprised of project status and manage expectations of different marketing personnel’s project timelines given department resources
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Excellent typography skills and fluency using style sheets
  • Knowledge of direct mail design and execution
  • Must be extremely detailed-oriented and have solid organizational skills
  • Clear sense of integrity, work ethic, and interest in building relationships based upon competency and trust.
  • Working knowledge of MAC platforms
  • Strong design style, including creative design solutions
  • Able to present concepts and lead internal teams to correct solutions.
  • Strong conceptual skills and creative brief understanding
  • Understanding of printing and pre-press terminology and principles
  • Experience in web marketing/web design with a strong knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, FTP, web design and development principles
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Project management software experience such as Monday.com
  • Ability to handle constructive criticism and feedback.
  • Demonstrated successful design execution and the delivery of projects on time
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work independently
  • Knowledge of publishing including content and pagination principles and multiple-page layout and design
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities and work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of collecting, uploading, downloading, and transmitting digital files to internal and external teams


Experience


  • Cruise line and/or hospitality creative experience preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in graphic design and creative management.


Other


  • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident/incident testing
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Additional requirements may be required depending on the physical needs of the role
