Resort Activities Director (Chief Excitement Officer) - (Full Time)
Cove Haven Resort
Lakeville, PA
**Currently offering a $500 Sign On Bonus for Qualified Cove Haven Resort Team Members**
Principal Responsibilities: The Chief eXcitement Officer is responsible for assisting with the development, promotion, and implementation of social activities for resort guests.
Essential Functions:
  • Act as a “MC” during evening entertainment
  • Issue any needed equipment for activities and safety
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service manner.
  • Instruct guests on the proper usage of any equipment
  • Must be able to speak with a variety of different groups, listen to the needs, and work with big groups
  • Provide a sociable and professional atmosphere at all times
  • Encourage guests to attend or join a social activity and motive them and keep them charged throughout the event
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service orientated manner
  • Must be able to speak clearly and passionately to guests, answer questions and keep people motivated
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Practices safety procedures in the performance of all duties
  • Attends all hotel required meetings

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and to be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essentials functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling or walking significant distances
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information
  • Ability to remain calm in high stress situations
  • Ability to understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English

QUALIFYING STANDARDS
Education
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Experience
Prior guest service or other hospitality experience preferred.
Licenses or Certificates
None. CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred.
Grooming
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
Other
Applicants with additional language skills preferred.
NOTICE:
The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
