Job Summary


This position’s responsibilities are in the areas of financial analysis, reporting and cost accounting.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Assists with the physical inventory process and reconciliation.
  • Works independently to retrieve information and processes into report formats, and organizes/maintains ongoing systems.
  • Takes ownership for the cost accounting function, including calculation of cost of goods sold and analysis of inventory transactions.
  • Supports compilation of information in Government and internal audits, providing interpretation of data.
  • Feeds data into management report formats, making effective format changes.
  • Work as a key business partner and bridge between Finance and other functional areas to optimize business processes and facilitate an understanding of cost structures and operational results
  • Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
  • Teams with other Accounting functional areas to complete a task cycle, i.e. budget compilation and reporting, indirect rate formation and reporting.
  • Assists with the annual business planning/budgeting process.
  • Processes General Ledger journal entries for Camden AR business unit
  • Organizes and analyzes data for closing and post-closing processes.
  • Understands and lives by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
  • Provides selected analysis of problem areas and recommends solutions.
  • Works closely with Accounting and Payroll Specialists to ensure that transactions are being processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate plant metrics and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive clarity, accountability, and results


Qualifications


  • Utilizes independent judgment and initiative.
  • Strong communications skills and good team attitude.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel with skills needed to meet position requirements
  • Basic knowledge of relevant modules of ERP system.
  • Requires strong analytical skills, organization, computer skills and background in reporting formats/organization.
  • Must be approachable, have interpersonal savvy, organizational, planning and priority setting skills and capable of setting priorities.
  • Knowledge of relevant Government regulations, FAR and CAS a plus
  • Ability to perform in time-limited situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, improve controls, and influence decisions through process improvement, financial analysis, and metrics

Education/Previous Experience Requirements


  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably for an aerospace and /or manufacturing organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
