SUMMARY:
The Creative department creates, supports, collaborates, invents, and advises. We use our data, experience, and creative smarts to make meaningful connections throughout all touchpoints of our brand. We are seeking a Copywriter who brings positive energy to our growing environment. A person who works equally as well collaborating with a team as they do independently. A creative storyteller that is detail oriented, delivers high-quality work, on time, and in a manner that exceeds expectations.
Work collaboratively across departments on all assigned projects on a global scale. Attend project kick-off meetings, serving as an expert on the brand voice. You’ll be expected to take notes based on the creative brief discussed, ask clarifying questions to understand the assignment and any specific creative requests, and confirm your role on the project. On a daily basis, you’ll be responsible for creating and editing written marketing and advertising materials. You’ll present work internally to the creative leader or stakeholders, interpreting feedback and adjusting copy accordingly while ensuring it’s on strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the marketing team to develop innovative and high-impact campaigns and deliverables based on marketing objectives Collaborate with the Creative, Go-to-Market, Product Marketing and Marketing teams to drive results and propose copy concepts Work with digital marketing to test and optimize messaging Ability to manage multiple writing assignments and work quickly and accurately in a deadline-driven environment, which requires you to be proactive and communicative with stakeholders Works on problems of moderate scope which are often varied and routine where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action Applies learned techniques and contributes to analysis and investigation to solve problems Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments Builds productive working relationships to resolve mutual problems
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Responsible for delivering quality work that adheres to briefs, is on brand, and is forward thinking
  • Concepting, writing, and executing content programs across digital channels, including but not limited to web, email, promotional campaigns, social, events and digital video
  • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from campaign briefs into persuasive copy concepts
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Take complex product language and distill it into clear, simple language that customers understand and connect with
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Writes copy to promote and create awareness for the organization’s brand including promotional materials, brochures, slogans, taglines and other marketing communications
  • Produce error-free content that adheres to brand guidelines
  • Proofreads, edits and fact-checks marketing communications prior to publication
  • Develop bold ideas and creative approaches to telling Rakuten Advertising’s story in ways that drive both acquisition and customer loyalty
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3+ years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • An impressive online portfolio showcasing a variety of projects, with your roles and responsibilities clearly stated
  • B2B experience
  • Experience and understanding of existing and emerging digital platforms
  • Bonus points for:
    • B2B experience
    • Understanding of UX writing and how to create innovative customer experiences
    • Experience and understanding of existing and emerging digital platforms
    • Software knowledge of Canva, Figma and or Ceros

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base salary for this role will be between $62,856- $98,280. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
