Job Description
Summary: As a cook for the Food and Beverage team, you will be responsible for cooking and preparing all food while upholding and maintaining the state and Six Flags food service standards Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Must be friendly and outgoing Other Functions: All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole.? While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the requirements of the job, management reserves the right to add or remove duties when circumstances (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs, or technological developments) dictate. Reports To: Food & Beverage Supervisor
  • For safety purposes, the individual must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
  • Cook food by a range of methods (i.e. baking, frying, roasting or steaming)
  • Make sure kitchen is hygienic and functional
  • Divide food into portions and make sure that the food is well presented
  • Prepare food to meet state Health Department as well as Six Flag requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
  • Cook and package batches of food, such as hamburgers and fried chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold
  • Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity Skills and Qualifications:
  • Clean food preparation areas and equipment
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • Check food to make sure of its quality and correct temperature as stated by state Department of Health
  • Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
  • Prepare food for cooking
  • Must be a team player
  • Store food in temperature-controlled equipment
  • Ability to actively communicate with large groups of Guests and other co-workers within the stand
  • Comply with all Six Flags policies and procedures
  • Prepare specialty foods such as pizzas following specific methods that usually require short preparation time
  • Be available to work flexible hours at nights and on weekends within the limits of applicable Federal, State and facility labor laws and guidelines
