Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking a Controller to join one of their top global holding and investment firms based in New York City. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department including review of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules (monthly, quarterly and yearly) in coordination with company closing deadlines. The Controller will manage the annual audit under the Senior Vice President. Lastly, the Controller will also assist with the onboarding of new investments’ Accounting.Some additional responsibilities include:

• Implement operational best practices for the month/quarter-end accounting close, consolidation process, and all finance & accounting functions ensuring accurate and timely financial statement preparation, KPIs, and the FML management reporting package
• Implement operational best practices for Accounting; manage and develop the accounting team so they provide business support and value-added services
• Credibly represent the company to owners, financial partners, including financial institutions, auditors, etc.
• Assist corporate office with preparation of schedules to support the federal tax return.
• Manage the annual consolidated audit by working directly with external auditors to ensure the annual audit is conducted efficiently
• Assist with onboarding of new investments’ Accounting Department to confirm to FML’s requirements, or if lacking, assist with set up of proper procedures and processes
• Review of ledgers and monthly consolidated financials as prepared by Accounting team
• Work with a variety of business system applications across multiple functional departments
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards and maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial and accounting procedures
• Assist with acquisition accounting of new investments, including assistance with valuation and opening balance sheet
