Job Description
Position Overview:


The Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing the general accounting and financial reporting functions. Candidate is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that the company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with financial policies, SEC requirements, and US GAAP.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Exceptional work ethic.
  • Provides technical accounting research and guidance.
  • Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
  • Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records.
  • Oversees the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, external financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
  • Ensures that company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives, US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Good US GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
  • Ensures that the ERP/GL system continues to operate as required.
  • Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.
  • Involved in validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.
  • Able to manage, mentor and coach direct reports.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over the same.
  • Coordinates and oversees the Sarbanes Oxley activities relative to internal controls documentation and testing.
  • Responsible for all external reporting, including taxes and audit requests.
  • Directly responsible for closing of monthly financial records at NACG level and consolidation of all locations.


Required Education and Experience:


  • 8-10 years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Solid excel skills, Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Prior management experience required
  • Business degree in Accounting/Finance required, CPA or MBA preferred.


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
  • Knowledge of accounts reconciliations
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, internal controls, and financial reporting


Additional Information


Travel: 0 – 10%


Physical Demands: Lifting a minimum of 25lbs, occasionally. Position is a desk position. Long periods of computer and/or phone is required.
