Essential Duties And Responsibilities


The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.


  • Maintain daily cash reports for all Company cash accounts/investments. Distribute weekly report on cash position for all entities.
  • Prepares accurate and timely internal and external financial/other reports as requested.
  • Provide support to facility management with regard to point-of-sale systems, online purchasing programs, and other software used in accounting and the facility.
  • File all necessary monthly/quarterly/annual tax and regulatory reports and returns.
  • Plan and manage the annual audit process including PBC preparation and daily oversight of outside auditors during fieldwork.
  • Develop and perform month end-close processes for all entities.
  • Supervise revenue cycle process which includes Private and Insurance Billing and the Accounts Receivable function in accordance with established policies and procedures. Manage and report on the collection process with the Accounts Receivable staff and facility management to achieve days’ sales outstanding targets. Work with facility management to ensure that the Accounts Receivable staff is responding to customer service requests, billing issues, etc. as necessary.
  • Supervise and monitor all aspects of the Accounts Payable function in accordance with established policies and procedures. Work with facility management to ensure that the Accounts Payable process is functioning properly between Corporate and each facility.
  • Update and/or create accounting/finance policies and procedures and communicate to facility locations.
  • Maintain monthly cash projections including all projected deposits and disbursements to advise management regarding the Company’s anticipated future cash position.
  • Assist CFO with preparation and distribution of financial information to both internal and external users including facility management, banks, Board of Trustees, auditors, bondholders, etc. according to established due dates.

Education And Experience Required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Requires minimum five (5) years of experience in accounting/auditing.


Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required


  • Ability to effectively supervise staff, review staff performance, hire and train staff, and implement disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English and understand and carry out detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions; maintaining flexibility and dealings with change; ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to use personal computers and various word processing software in addition to other office machinery used which includes telephone, typewriter, copy machine, fax machine, and adding machine. Aptitude for using these machines required.
  • Proficient ability to operate computer using various software programs for word document and spreadsheet processing including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision, exercise excellent professional judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding and ability to use complex arithmetic and grammar with accuracy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers, employees, residents, clients and other internal and external constituents.
  • Proficient working knowledge of accounting rules and standards including the ability to create and post journal entries, read, create, and understand financial statements, reconcile ledger accounts, and apply accounting rules to specific business transactions to determine the appropriate recording of the transaction.
