SDI (Spatial Data Infrastructure) and GIS Support Specialist

Ovintiv is currently seeking candidates to fill a contract position to support Ovintiv’s SDI. The contractor will be required to work with a diverse group of business customers to deploy and support geospatial solutions. You will be a member of Ovintiv Operations Technology team which supports and maintains the SDI for all Operations across Canada and the US.
Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting and innovating all levels of the Spatial data infrastructure in a multi-tier client-server GIS architecture, including Oracle RDMS, Integrations, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, Web and native mobile applications.
  • Develop and maintain spatial data infrastructure observability, licensing and performance. Utilizing ArcGIS Monitor and other SDI performance reporting tools, such as Grafana, Spotfire and Power BI.
  • Develop, automate process and tools to support monitoring and reporting on geospatial data quality issues.
  • Coordinate with IT and Business to deploy hardware and software solutions in a production environment.
  • Develop and maintain ETL integrations using various technologies including but not limited to FME, Informatica, python and combinations thereof.
  • Focus on the development and management of innovative business solutions, standards and procedures to maintain high standards of efficiency and quality in geospatial products and services.
  • Function as Geospatial Technology SME to provide advanced Server and Desktop system support to compliment internal IT support resources.
  • Provide technical direction and operational support regarding the maintenance of the Web and GIS systems including patching, upgrades, product evaluation, testing, architecture and implementation.
Qualifications
  • ArcGIS Enterprise
  • ArcGIS Desktop Pro
  • A degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Cloud computing and Big Data technologies
  • Python development
  • Basic understanding of GIS-based mobile technologies and concepts, including ArcGIS Field Maps, GPS, Esri ArcGIS Online, and offline editing.
  • RDMS - Preferably Oracle and/or Postgress
  • Windows server administration
  • Knowledge of and experience with Esri’s ArcGIS Online product suite and capabilities, including the map viewer, templates, story maps, and web application builder.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Esri Technology including ArcGIS Enterprise and geospatial web services.
  • Applied knowledge of geospatial solution development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Must have some experience in the following applications and computing environments:
  • FME Desktop and Server
  • Completion of a one-year technical program in GIS, or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of professional experience, preferably in the geospatial industry.
