Our Powertrain Operations facility, located on Pilgrim Road in Menomonee Falls, WI, is where the “jewel” of the motorcycle comes to life. Pilgrim Road employees produce engines and transmissions for the final assembly plant in York, Pennsylvania, as well as transmissions, and replacement parts for sale through Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories business. Join our team as a Continuous Improvement Manager and help build the world’s most sought-after motorcycles.
Job Summary
Effectively manages the Lean methodology and the Continuous Improvement System in Harley-Davidson Manufacturing. This includes providing hands-on Lean experience and implementation knowledge of the tools and supporting systems to insure sustained Lean processes. This role is a subject matter expert in Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Lean Production, Kaizen, Kanban, and the Continuous Improvement System with a deep knowledge of hands-on implementation. This role will focus on improving business metrics utilizing Continuous Improvement methods to eliminate waste.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead cross functional and cross site teams through influence; provides guidance, direction and support to others.
  • This role will maintain the integrity of the system while being actively involved in executing projects.
  • This role will teach, and mentor others to leverage CI as an enabler to solve problems and improve our business metrics.
  • This position will continuously work to ensure we are benchmark for CI including merging digital technology with foundational production systems.
  • The incumbent will lead in improving processes, driving customer satisfaction, increasing productivity and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • This role will be directly involved in leading the development of department Work Unit Plans driving the business forward with the execution of them.
  • This role will help create, drive and maintain the consistency of our Harley-Davidson Continuous Improvement System across all manufacturing sites including leading site assessments.
  • Model leadership in managing complex, integrated projects that cross organizational functions. Oversee deployment of on-going Lean training.
  • Posses an understanding of manufacturing excellence concepts including value stream mapping, work flow, analysis, 5S, pull system/one piece flow, visual management and quick change/setup.

Experience Requirements
Required
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
Preferred
  • Experience leading in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires working knowledge of the budgeting process, capital equipment justification/procurement and capacity.
  • Working knowledge of J.I.T. and Lean manufacturing methodology and principles, tools, people systems is required.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
