STRONG CANDIDATE IDENTIFIED
The HRSA Legislative Change Projects has an opening for a Senior Project Director, reporting to the Maternal and Child Health Director within the Early Childhood Portfolio contingent upon award. The goal of this project is to support HRSA in operationalizing the new requirements included in the MIECHV reauthorization CAA by providing subject matter expertise around the new requirements, conducting background research to inform policy development, support expert and partner engagement, develop recommendations and resource materials for the implementation of the statutorily required changes, develop standard operating procedures to assist federal staff in monitoring compliance with these requirements, and provide recommendations for technical assistance and training needed by MIECHV awardees to implement these requirements. In addition, this project will provide contractual support for convening and facilitating meetings to bring together broad groups of interested parties with expertise in these areas to help inform HRSA’s future direction for this work. This position will also facilitate workgroups composed of federal staff who are tasked with developing policy guidance in these areas for MIECHV awardees.
You Will
  • Approve plan revisions, set priorities & strategies; evaluate progress
  • Manage resource needs; arrange appropriate internal or subcontracted services
  • Oversee programmatic/technical success as well as for administrative/business/financial viability of the project
  • Oversee internal & external communications, project documentation, financial management, staff selection and placement, subcontractor and partner relationships, administrative support
  • Manage the workplan, timeliness and quality of deliverables
  • Present project progress and/or results in public fora and/or publications
Qualifications
This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills.
Education
  • Master’s degree or equivalent combination of training & experience required in a related discipline
Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrable leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and aptitude for details
  • 5+ years related experience, with 3–6 years of complex project management experience, including budget responsibility and staff supervision
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Nationally known in field of expertise
