We are seeking a skilled English to Spanish (US) Content Translator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating a wide range of content, including educational materials, product content, blog articles, and more. The translator must be able to accurately convey the meaning and tone of the original content while ensuring the translated content is culturally appropriate and relevant to the target audience, which includes US students, parents, and school district staff. The ideal candidate will have an interest in producing content for young people and will be willing to work closely with our content team to ensure that all translated content meets our brand, tone and quality standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all translated content accurately conveys the meaning and tone of the original content.
  • Assist with the creation of digital safety and wellbeing content for our target personas.
  • Work closely with our various project teams to translate a variety of content from English content to Spanish for our US student, parent and school district staff audience.
  • Provide input regarding how to ensure that our content can be made accessible to the US Spanish speaking community.
  • Build familiarity with our various software and content authoring systems to assist content teams and streamline translation processes.
  • Proofread and edit translated content.
  • Collaborate with the content team to ensure that all translated content meets quality standards and deadlines.

Expectations of this Role

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Fluent in English and Spanish with exceptional writing skills in both languages.
  • Ability to coordinate clear communications and updates to key stakeholders and manage documents for internal reference
  • Strong abilities to communicate with a variety of stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and use our software systems, including (but not limited to) Google suite, Articulate Storyline, and content management system.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills

Qualifications
  • Achieved or working towards a qualification in teaching/education, writing, translation or linguistics (preferred)
  • Experience creating and/or translating written content on websites, marketing releases and/or application content.
  • Experience in translating content for students (ideally elementary to secondary aged school children).
  • Minimum one year experience translating from English to Spanish for a US spanish speaking audience.

Base salary : 2 days per week c$16,000 per annum plus benefits
