What does success look like at the end of day as a Content Strategist / Writer at the well-known Zen Media brand: Your marketing and demand gen clients want to take you on their editorial and brand voice journey, and they look to you as their guiding light on all things content creation. You remain up-to-date on the latest changes and trends for audience messaging per channel and can effectively present prepared strategies and communicate ideas to the client in real-time. You can do this for 4-6 clients at a time while also owning copywriting and editorial drafts.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with social media managers, designers, PR managers, SEO specialists, ad specialists, client marketing strategists, and more to ensure that the content you develop fits into the broader marketing strategy for the account.
- Use strong writing strategies to ensure your content flows well, is engaging, and is appropriate for the client.
- Assist teammates, as needed, in writing pieces for clients, reviewing their copy, and so on.
- Work with clients to help develop content strategies, including content for blogs, social media, email marketing, public relations, web copy, and more.
- One of the clients you will own the content strategy and development for is in the Jewish cultural experience space. For this reason, the content strategist must have a strong knowledge of Jewish culture, including the basics of the religion and the cultural traditions, including holidays, foods, popular media, and so on. Ability to speak/understand Hebrew is a big plus, but not required.
- Act as a ghostwriter for C-Suite-level executives, capturing their insights and voice in expertly crafted content assets.
- Stay up to do on content marketing trends and best practices, and use them in your own work.
- Use correct grammar and punctuation in all assets.
- Attend client meetings and present content assets, strategy adjustments, and so on professionally and with poise.
- Write engaging content that matches your client’s brand and voice guidelines.
Qualifications
- Must: Have background knowledge about Jewish culture, Jewish identity, and the Jewish experience.
- Exceptional “drive” for seeing projects through to completion.
- Ability to juggle multiple clients and hit key deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- You are proactive and resourceful—a self-starter, self-motivated, optimistic, detail-oriented, and collaborative
- Strong handle on grammar and punctuation
- Strong understanding of how to outline and plot long-form pieces.
- Proven experience exercising strategic thinking and creative problem-solving within a marketing environment
- Preferred: have worked in a B2B marketing, tech, fintech, or SaaS background.
- Proven experience and success at an agency or handling multiple marketing brands at once
- Moderate to advanced computer skills and efficiency with project management technology (ie slack, asana, clickup, monday, etc)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal and written.
- Strong understanding of how to write engaging and eye-catching short-form pieces
- Team player and collaborator, always pushing the boundaries of creativity together.
- Agency experience preferred, but not required
- [3-6] years of industry experience preferred
