How You’ll Make a Difference
Navigate the waters of a growing and resilient industry. Woodard & Curran seeks a Consulting Business Leader who will lead our safe environment practices to solve complex environmental needs. You will inspire commitment to executing the company’s vision and strategic plans while leading and partnering in decision-making that sustains organizational change. In this role on the Consulting Leadership Team, you will balance strategy execution, exercising influence at all levels of the business, to effectively manage project and client needs. In doing so, you will support the execution of a market approach based on leveraging the full power of Woodard & Curran talent to create value for our clients. What You Will Be Doing At Woodard & Curran
  • Collaborate with the Director of Practice to identify and solve staffing issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing BU annual business plan with C-Suite Leadership to achieve growth, profitability, and market capture.
  • Accountable for operational excellence aspects, including metrics, dashboards, and scorecards, to track and ensure performance and regulatory compliance for BU.
  • Attending monthly and quarterly CLT Meetings, prepared with updates to financial direction, monthly staffing plan updates, and other business updates.
  • Responsible for consulting with Corporate Service Departments and Consulting Leadership Team (CLT) to execute consistent operational systems for work delivery, project management, quality assurance, business reporting, compliance, and administration.
  • Collaborate on the development of the strategic and tactical marketing and sales plan for the BU.
  • Collaborate with the Consulting Core Leader to develop, identify, and solve delivery system issues to meet client contractual obligations.
  • Accountable for developing BU Financial Plan for both Top- Down (Opportunities and Backlog) and Bottom-Up (Labor and Expenses).
  • Responsible for reviewing quarterly and monthly financials along with business reports and adjusting as needed to ensure financial and business goals are achieved.

What You Will Need to Succeed
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience driving results in a consulting environment including demonstrated track record of large project management - municipal and/or private sector projects.
  • Compliance – ability to ensure compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls.
  • Demonstrated leadership and leadership roles within the consulting industry. Proven track record for meeting financial goals; ability to provide clear, credible vision and strategy; inspires others to follow; evidence of making tough decisions, working under pressure, courage
  • Demonstrates collaboration and influence in working across businesses & corporate functions to meet company and client objectives.
  • 10 years minimum of related experience being accountable for financial performance and leading teams to drive operational and market/client success.
  • Instills trust through honesty, authenticity, and transparency
  • Applies an equity lens, fosters an equitable and inclusive workplace where differences are valued and leveraged
  • Demonstrates empathy and humility, seeking ways to grow and be challenged

  • Preferred experience leading an environmental consulting practice (emerging containments, remediation, community development, sustainability & ESG, EHS Management, and Industrial Plant Engineering).

Compensation
Pay:
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided below; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
Annual Incentive Bonus Opportunity:
Eligible positions may receive an annual cash bonus based on the role’s organizational level, and is represented as a percentage range of eligible earnings**
Pay Range
$160,178.00 - $240,266.00

  • Vacation time is provided to full and part-time regular employees. Vacation is accrued, based on number of hours worked per week as well as prior years of experience.
