Construction Management New Grad Opportunity

The Assistant Construction Project Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of assigned projects and the achievement of the project’s scope, schedule, and financial requirements and metrics. The primary responsibilities are to support the Project Manager with the daily activities required to plan and successfully execute the project requirements. The Assistant Construction Project Manager is responsible for monitoring compliance with corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Construction Quality Control policy for all assigned projects.

Job Requirements of the Assistant Construction Project Manager may include travel, temporary duty assignments, or relocations. Willingness to travel for project assignments is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Construction Project Manager with management of the project schedule and budget.
• Participate and lead in the pre-qualification, selection, and procurement of construction contractors to build the specific projects.
• Prepare comprehensive daily logs, project submittals, RFI’s, necessary reports, documenting inspection and testing results.
• Assist in the interpretation of the plans and specifications of the project.
• Planning and implementing daily activities and supporting the management of three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Assist the Construction Project Manager in the creation and management of the project risk register to identify and mitigate potential risks to the successful completion of the projects.
• Assist and lead in managing the commissioning, closeout, and turnover process.
• Assist and lead in implementing a strong safety and quality program on the project.
• Lead the efforts in obtaining the necessary permits, environmental approvals, and licenses necessary to construct the projects.
• Review construction subcontractor’s implementation plans, including a project management plan, procurement plan, safety plan, quality plan, and general means and methods to identify any risks in the plans.
• Monitoring daily progress of craft and trade subcontractors to ensure compliance with technical and contract requirements.
• Participate and lead in the pre-qualification, selection, and contracting of design professionals.
• Assist with the planning of the assigned projects, including establishing the baseline cost, baseline schedule, and cash flow.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Understanding of project estimating and scheduling techniques
• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar degree.
• Knowledge of the built environment infrastructure, including buildings and infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to work well with clients

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of a construction job site safely.
