What will you do?

This position is an entry level position and typically filled by a candidate that is new to the industry and/or a recent college graduate. This position will be responsible for creating cost estimates and lead the tender process. They will work closely with the sales and operations team to ensure internal alignment. Candidates must possess a proactive attitude towards learning and development of their skillsets. Future career paths often include technical sales, candidates with an interest in going into a technical sales role eventually will be highly considered.

What do you get to do in this position?
  • Manage RFP and the estimating process for Medium to large scale projects across several regions.
  • Coordinate and verify subcontractor quotations and scopes of work
  • Attends and run pre-bid meetings, and site walk-throughs for potential projects
  • Understand, analyze, document, and communicate technical terms and conditions relative to the company standard
  • Reconcile final job costs after internal and external project review meetings.
  • Complete required technical training in order to increase proficiency in the above activities
  • Other duties as requested

  • Maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships
  • Support Senior Estimators in vendor scopes, pricing, and running reports. Job shadow and cross-train as needed
  • Partner with other Pre-Construction Tender/Tender Senior for support when developing project scope
  • Develop detailed scope letters and optimal system designs
  • Consult with operations, engineering and sales groups throughout the tendering process and brainstorm/volunteer ideas
  • After project award, turnover the project to the operations team effectively. Identify and document discrepancies in plans
  • With the team to lower costs
  • Review customer specifications/drawings to ensure quote is technically compatible and competitive
  • Support sales calls as needed
  • Prioritize assigned projects in order to meet sales schedule

  • BlueBeam (Takeoff Tool – No Experience Necessary
