Job Description
First Entertainment Credit Union is looking for a Compliance Analyst who is responsible for the effective support of Member-related issues through the management of the Helpdesk Ticketing System. The ideal candidate maintains a working knowledge of policies, procedures, and the Credit Union's current practices. The individual works to support all areas of the Credit Union in accordance with the Compliance Program.


The Compliance Analyst is also responsible for supporting the Credit Union’s vendor management program, ensuring vendors due diligence is collected and completed per policy. In addition, they will act as liaison to retained legal counsel for matters requiring legal review, including Credit Union disclosures and marketing materials.


This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity reporting to the Director, Compliance and is based in Hollywood, CA.


Responsibilities


  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Perform audits of Compliance Helpdesk tickets to ensure follow-through and adequate resolution is achieved to meet KPIs
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Credit Union policies, procedures and the operations of the Credit Union
  • Support in the periodic review of all types of disclosures
  • Perform Coogan Account Withdrawal Audits
  • Manage the agenda and take minutes for Cross Department Huddles between Compliance and other Departments as necessary. Conduct follow-up on outstanding, open-ended items
  • Facilitate compliance review of marketing and promotional materials, prior to distribution to the membership
  • Review legal documents received by the member-facing team members and advise them on appropriate actions to be taken
  • Provide support to all departments in resolving member matters
  • Provide support on Vendor Management to ensuring risk assessments and due diligence are performed on all vendors


Requirements


  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, legal counsel, law enforcement, regulators, auditors and examiners, while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills to effectively research, investigate, and offer solutions to issues that are more complex and difficult in nature
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act regulations
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusion or approaches to complex problems
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience required
  • Strong analytical ability, judgment, and ingenuity
  • Experience in financial services compliance, audit, credit union/ bank operations, or risk management within the financial services industry
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness of work output
  • Financial and Regulatory Compliance certifications a plus but not required
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services, procedures and guidelines, and field of membership requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations applicable to essential responsibilities
  • PC proficient, including MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Symitar for Windows (Episys)

The minimum and maximum hourly base range for this position is $25.73 to $38.60 in California. The target starting hourly rate is between $25.73 and $32.17.
