Position Overview:
Masterworks is seeking a highly motivated Compliance Analyst who is passionate about finance and marketing. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving all advertising copy, including email newsletters, podcasts, Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, YouTube, and more to ensure that they meet all relevant regulatory requirements. Every month, Masterworks spends several million dollars on online advertisements, most of which are unique, newly-created ad units. Communications produced by Masterworks may be subject to rules and regulations of FINRA, the SEC, the FTC and other regulatory agencies, as well as internal policies.
Our Compliance Analyst will report directly to our CCO and work in tandem with our legal and marketing teams. Our ideal candidate possesses a solid understanding of financial products and concepts, and the regulatory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor industry trends and changes in regulations and adjust policies and procedures as needed
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements
- “Problem-solve” with the marketing team to figure out how to best accomplish marketing objectives while remaining compliant
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements
- Review and approve all marketing content to ensure that it complies with all relevant regulatory requirements, including but not limited to FINRA and SEC regulations, such as the Marketing Rule
- Provide training and education to the marketing team on compliance-related matters
Requirements or Skill Sets:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, law, or related field
- Business-minded, capable of balancing compliance risk with business objectives
- Strong understanding of FINRA and SEC regulations (Marketing Rule or FINRA 2210) related to marketing content
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience in compliance, preferably in a fintech company.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and analyze regulatory risks

How does Masterworks think about compensation?
The compensation range for the role is $75-100k (inclusive only of base salary, and exclusive of other potential competitive benefits such as on-target commission, bonus payments, and equity). Our ranges are very broad to accommodate all types of candidates and encourage growth. Specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, and alignment with market data. Exceptional candidates may receive salaries outside of the posted ranges.

- Must be able to work in our NYC office at Brookfield Place, not a remote role.
