Communications Intern

The Kaplan Inc. Communications team is looking for an intern to help with various communications and social media tasks. This position is a part-time, paid internship with flexible weekly hours. Potential tasks may include, but are not limited to: administrative duties, ghostwriting, and editorial planning.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create and post content to social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Help to curate/organize photo, video, and digital asset collections
• This is a hybrid role (750 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10017)
• Provide project management and research assistance as needed
• Help to manage event/editorial calendar
• Brainstorm and identify relevant employee, customer, product and other stories to share on social media and internal communications channels

Minimum Qualifications

• Preferred degree in or studying journalism, communications, marketing, English, or a related field
• Self-motivated and has a learning attitude, ability to manage and complete multiple tasks, determined, flexible, independent, organized
• College junior, senior, or recent graduate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of various social media platforms
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Premiere)

The salary range for the Communications Intern role is currently between $15.00 and $18.00 per hour, and the amount that is offered is based on the candidate's skills, experience and education, among other factors determined by the business. It is within Kaplan's discretion to adjust this range based on business needs.
