Commodities Trader Assistant – Leading Hedge Fund - $200-300K Total Comp Package

My client, a prestigious, market leading global multi-billion dollar New York based hedge fund, are looking to make a newly created Trader Assistant hire for its rapidly expanding commodity trading business.

My client has been rapidly expanding its US commodities trading business – market leading investment professionals have recently been hired, volumes have multiplied and products have become more complex. This is a newly created hire to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding business - this senior level ‘TA’ hire, reporting directly into a ‘Global Head’, will primarily be focused on commodity products, predominantly power & gas, but with a wide ranging product scope beyond this.

This is a role which directly faces off to industry leading commodities Portfolio Managers and Traders. The remit is not focused on processing, but instead the focus is on controls post-execution (around trade capture/booking/matching). The hire will be heavily involved in projects relating to process improvement and creating new securities (using his/her initiative to seek out opportunities to work on strategic projects and be able to manage them through completion).

Candidates must come from a commodities specific background. You will have 5-10yrs experience in an operations/MO/trade support/TA role. You should have a strong academic profile.

The role is budgeted to pay a year one minimum comp package of $200k, however it has scope to offer a top performer a $250-300k comp package. The firm also offer a market leading benefits package.
