Job Description
What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a talented Commissioning Mechanical Engineer to join it's Commissioning team at Gigafactory Texas. This individual will play an important role in the start up, commissioning, and handover of mission critical mechanical systems for the factory's infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
  • Accountable for the commissioning of all shops assigned to him or her
  • Developing the commissioning procedures based on Tesla specifications
  • Has a clear visibility of sequencing of systems needed to commission for Manufacturing / Operations / Facilities from start up to initiate production
  • Responsible for safety of execution of activities during commissioning
  • Establishing and implementing project commissioning plans
  • Able to report and present commissioning status, delays, and recovery plans to all stakeholders
  • Holds accountable construction of any commissioning delays and request plan to get back on schedule
  • Assures commissioning schedule activities are updated biweekly and plan developed with a 3 week look ahead with vision to execute
  • Prepares an Execution Strategy following the handover plan with CxAlloy Completion program
  • Managing and accountable for the commissioning of areas assigned to him/her
  • Meeting Tesla Standards for the execution of all commissioning activities.
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in the field partnering with design engineers, facilities engineers, and construction personnel
  • 1+ year of practical industry experience working in highly complex industrial settings
  • Preference for Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management or industry equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills comfortable with presenting progress reports and status updates to a variety of staekholders
