Job Description

What You Will Be Responsible For


As a Senior Cobol Developer you will

• Develop enhancements and new functionality for our in-house suite of applications

• Create technical specifications, architect high-end solutions, perform hands-on development and create test plans according to client published Development Process Framework and providing production support.

• Work on multiple projects on a monthly release cycle.

• Work in a complex deadline driven projects with minimal supervision.

• Design/develop with minimum requirements by effectively coordinating activities between Business Analyst, developers and managers.

• Ensure testing coverage and documentation is complete for each software release.

• Provide release weekend support as well as production support.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Senior Cobol Developer.

• Experience with Fujitsu NetCobol or MicroFocus Cobol desired.

• Experience with relational databases.

• Solid experience in full software development cycle, including application architecture, technical specs, analysis, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing, production support.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

• Exceptional interpersonal communication and strong team collaboration skills.

• Possesses the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Experience testing software designed for elaborate business scenarios.

• Aptitude for learning new things and flexibility to adapt and follow guidelines
