Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION


What You Will Be Responsible For


As a Senior Cobol Developer you will

•Develop enhancements and new functionality for our in-house suite of applications

•Create technical specifications, architect high-end solutions, perform hands-on development and create test plans according to client published Development Process Framework and providing production support.

•Work on multiple projects on a monthly release cycle.

•Work in a complex deadline driven projects with minimal supervision.

•Design/develop with minimum requirements by effectively coordinating activities between Business Analyst, developers and managers.

•Ensure testing coverage and documentation is complete for each software release.

•Provide release weekend support as well as production support.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

•The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Senior Cobol Developer.

•Experience with Fujitsu NetCobol or MicroFocus Cobol desired.

•Experience with relational databases.

•Solid experience in full software development cycle, including application architecture, technical specs, analysis, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing, production support.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

•Exceptional interpersonal communication and strong team collaboration skills.

•Possesses the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

•Experience testing software designed for elaborate business scenarios.

•Aptitude for learning new things and flexibility to adapt and follow guidelines
