Provides leadership oversight for multidisciplinary cancer conferences (MDCs) for the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI). Ensures all cancer conferences comply with applicable hospital policies, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and goals established by the Northside Hospital Cancer Committee. Facilitates active participation of all required medical and allied health care disciplines to promote integrated patient care. Ensures that interdisciplinary treatment recommendations are developed with consideration of current, nationally recognized evidence- based guidelines. Monitors conference performance metrics and conference-related quality studies. Provides reports of conference activities to the cancer institute leadership and steering committees. The MDC Coordinator plays a critical role in developing relationships with clinicians throughout the NHCI system by facilitating communication and providing opportunities for engagement, education, and quality improvement initiatives.


Knowledge Skills And Abilities/License Or Certification Required


  • Demonstrated knowledge of current NCCN guidelines and current cancer staging schema from the American Joint Commission on Cancer (AJCC)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with video conferencing products such as Zoom.
  • Three (3) years of recent oncology nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Evidence of nursing leadership experience.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION


  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Certification(s) in Oncology Nursing (OCN, other)
  • Five (5) or more years of oncology nursing experience
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the Commission on Cancer Accreditation Standards.Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Experience as an Oncology Nurse Navigator, Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner
